Bull & Roo Scores A Hat-trick At The Caterer Middle East Awards 2019

The Bull&Roo team are proud to have bagged three marquee awards from this years’ Caterer Middle East Awards celebrations. It is an overwhelming victory for the team as they received key industry awards namely; ‘Head Barista of the Year’, ‘Restaurant Manager of the Year’ and the coveted ‘Restaurateur of the Year’. The glittering awards night which took place yesterday at the JW Marriot Marquis, revealed the best of the best in the food and beverage industry from the Middle East. Homegrown hospitality company, Bull & Roo, walked away as the only group to take home multiple awards.

Tom Arnel’s passion in the creation of homegrown specialty cafes and restaurants, where there has long been a gap in the GCC region, has been duly recognized as he was bestowed the ‘Restaurateur of the Year’ award. Arnel commented, “I wish to thank all the judges who are involved in the Caterer Middle East awards and a huge congratulations to all the other winners and nominees as well. It is wonderful to see that the Dubai restaurant scene is in great shape.”

Matt Connell and Jamie Elfman received the ‘Restaurant Manager of the Year’ and Head Barista of the Year’, awards respectively. Matt is constantly driving the Common Grounds operations and has been a standout leader within the group having expanded the Common Grounds’ brand and reach with two new venues in DIFC and Almas Tower in JLT, making it THE F&B concept to watch over the coming season. DIFC & JLT Makes Three! Common Grounds Launches New Outlets

The team at Common Grounds are proud to announce two new branches located at DIFC Gate Village and Almas Tower JLT! Along with the original MOE location, our vibrant, fresh and contemporary venue is now accessible all across the city.

Expect a range of signature dishes, along with a few new additions to appeal to both the vegetarian and vegan community. A development to our regular a la carte offering, is the exciting salad and sandwich takeaway deli bar. Ideal for office workers on the go or those out of time to dine in, we cover everything from grab and go breakies to gorgeous healthy salads and proteins served fast and fresh!

The design of our new outlets is bright, light and elegant with pops of greenery and both flexible and communal seating for office meetings, a workspace or catching up with friends. Conveniently both USB and power chargers adorn the dining spaces. Bull & Roo Managing Director Tom Arnel adds “Opening Common Grounds in DIFC and JLT is another huge step forward for us. We now have three beautiful stores covering major parts of the city – DIFC, MOE and now JLT. We are really excited about the future of Common Grounds. No matter the location, our food program is always focused on quality ingredients with fresh takes on classic dishes, so I think the appeal lends itself to the casual diner.”

Coffee connoisseurs will remain impressed with the options on offer and the new venues boast Dubai’s first all robotic Poursteady machine. Head of Coffee Hayley Palk leads the coffee program from Encounter Coffee Roastery. The team have also introduced a new Coffee Collective program, where 10 spaces are reserved every Thursday at 10am from DIFC and JLT locations where we go through our finest roasts and talk all things Encounter coffee!

All locations are available on Deliveroo seven days a week and dine in 8am – late, with the exception of DIFC who will introduce opening on weekends in the upcoming season.

Off the back of a clean sweep at this year’s Caterer Middle East Awards, the team at Bull&Roo are showing no signs of slowing down. Teaming up exclusively with partner Deliveroo, Bull&Roo’s first virtual brand PASTA BAR DXB launches this EID. Operating 7 days a week from 11am – 11pm, JLT, Marina and surrounding day and night residences will be able to divulge in traditional, hand-made Italian inspired classics at the click of a phone or computer.

Remaining true to Bull&Roo’s ethos and reputation of making everything naturally from scratch, each dish on the menu is hand-made in the Common Grounds JLT kitchen from the various pastas, sauces and sourdough garlic breads. Teaming up with Dubai’s dessert queen Liz Stevenson, arguably the city’s most indulgent treats are accessible straight to the office or home within half an hour. Cold brew tiramisu and Nutella cannoli are set to become instant click-bait!

A considered selection of meat and vegetarian dishes filled with passion will be available. Mushroom and truffle ravioli, fettuccine carbonara and pumpkin, spinach and ricotta cannelloni are both nostalgic and comforting for either in the office or home on date night.
